FAQ

✅ 1. General Product Questions

What is the Nephilim Meshtastic Device?

The Nephilim is a rugged, CNC-machined Meshtastic radio designed for long-range, off-grid communication. It uses LoRa mesh networking to send and relay encrypted messages without cell service or Wi-Fi.

What makes your radios different from other Meshtastic builds?

Our devices are engineered for real-world field use. Each unit features a CNC-machined aluminum enclosure, external high-gain antennas, long battery life, and weather-resistant sealing. They’re built for durability, reliability, and consistent performance in harsh environments.

Are your radios waterproof or impact-resistant?

Yes. The Nephilim Series uses sealed gaskets, O-ring interfaces, and robust enclosure design to achieve high levels of water and dust resistance (internally tested to IP67). The CNC aluminum housing also provides exceptional impact protection.

What antennas do they support?

Our radios use standard SMA connectors and support a wide range of external antennas, including high-gain whips and compact options for tight installations. Users can choose antennas based on range, size, or application.

Do they work with all Meshtastic apps and firmware?

Yes. The Nephilim radios run Meshtastic or MeshCore firmware and pair with both iOS and Android apps. We ship units ready to use, and you can update firmware at any time through the app or USB-C.

✅ 2. Usage & Features

How far is the communication range?

Range varies with terrain and antenna selection. In open environments, users commonly reach several miles, while dense urban or forested areas may reduce distance. The mesh network extends coverage automatically as more nodes join.

How long does the battery last?

Our devices include a high-capacity rechargeable Li-ion battery capable of multi-day runtime. Typical use ranges from 3–14 days depending on reporting intervals, relay usage, and power settings.

Can I replace the battery myself?

Yes. The battery is secured inside the enclosure but can be replaced using basic tools. Replacement batteries are available on our site, and instructions are provided.

Are the messages encrypted?

Yes. All messages are encrypted using the Meshtastic/MeshCore encryption layer. Each channel uses its own key, ensuring only authorized users can read transmitted data.

Do you support external mounts and accessories?

Absolutely. Our devices include mounting points and are compatible with multiple mounting systems, including our zip-tie high-strength mounts and other modular accessories.
